Ed Belfour, known for his aggressive goaltending style was signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks on June 18, 1987. Nicknamed "The Eagle" Eddie recorded his first NHL win with a 7-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on December 23 1987. In his first full season (1990-91), Eddie won the Calder, Vezina and Jennings trophy, something that is rarely accomplished.
