Jason Smith, was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the first round of the 1992 NHL Entry draft. He was later traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs before moving onto the Edmonton Oilers. After 3 years of solid hard nosed defensive play, Smith was named the Oiler captain joining the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier who also had that honor.
