Mario Lemieux, was drafted 1st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1984. He scored his first NHL goal on his first shift and on his first shot, finishing the year with 100 points. Mario became the 3rd rookie to ever hit the 100 point mark, winning the Calder Trophy. He won the Art Ross in 1998 dethroning Wayne Gretzky. In 1989, Lemieux finished the year with 199 points the only other player to come close to the 200 point mark, only achieved by Gretzky. Lemieux has won 2 cups, several awards in is one of the all time greats.
