Mark Messier, was drafted 48th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Nicknamed "the Moose" for his size, strength and determination, Messier is one of the NHL's all time greatest leaders. In 1984, playing along side Wayne Gretzky and the Oilers, Messier was the playoffs MVP. In 1994, he lead the New York Rangers to their first Stanley Cup in 54 years becoming the first player to captain 2 Championship teams. He has won 6 cups and is one of the NHL's all time leading scorers.
