Maurice Richard, played 18 NHL seasons all with the Montreal Canadiens. In 1944-45 he became the first player in NHL history to score 50 goals in 1 season. Amazingly he accomplished that feat in 50 games, something that wouldn't be matched until 1980-81 by Mike Bossy. Richard was also the first player to record 8 points in a game, an NHL record until Darryl Sittler recorded 10 in 1976. He was also the first to score 500 goals and has an award named after him, given out to the NHL's top goal scorer.
