San Jose Sharks, play in the Western Conference and are 1 of five teams in the Pacific Division. The Sharks joined the NHL in 1991 as an expansion team. The team name was chosen because San Jose is located off the coast of the Pacific Ocean, which is home to several different varieties of sharks. San Jose wear uniforms of teal, gray, black, and white and their home arena is at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California also known as the "Shark Tank".
