After a brilliant career in Junior Hockey Steve Mason put himself on the map by winning Gold for Team Canada at the 2008 World Junior Hockey Championships. He stole the show by taking home the Top Goaltender Award, Tournament MVP and won player of the game in the semi-finals and finals. He made his professional debut at the beginning of the 2008/09 season with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL but was called up to Columbus and made his NHL debut on November 5th, 2008. Mason was awarded NHL Rookie of the Month for November in his first full month in the league.
