Steve Yzerman, was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1983. He set Detroit rookie records with 39 goals and 87 points. At age 21 he became the youngest captain in NHL history. He is the longest serving captain in NHL history and has the NHL record for most points recorded on 1 team. In 1989, Yzerman scored 65 goals, 90 assists and 155 points all Red Wing records. Only Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux have ever scored more then 155 points in 1 year. Yzerman has won 3 cups and 1 Olympic gold medal.
